Welcome Spring at the Three Shadows Sakura Photo Fair

It’s that time of year again! The weather is heated and Beijing’s spring beauty has already begun to reveal itself. Of course, these are cherry flowers that we all go over, and although there are a number of places around the city where you can catch the precious cherry flowers, a place especially a pretty unique photography experience promises.

4th April, Three Shadows Photography Art Center will host its third spring photography fair and encourages you to come and take some time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the spring. The event consists of three main elements:

Spring photography

Two beautiful cherry flowers trees lovingly named “Somei-Yoshino” and “Yae Sakura”-will be in bloom in the yard, making the perfect topics and presenting a beautiful atmosphere for some enchanting spring photography.

Outdoor photography Bazaar

Which fair would be complete without wonderful artificial creations for sale? You will not miss this photography market that brings together artists, curators, experts and scholars as well as photography lovers from all walks of life. There will be a number of topics on display, services offered or things available for sale on the market, including photography -related products (eg more.

Three photography exhibitions

As an additional treat, the event marks the opening of these thoughtful exhibitions:

  • “Metal Odyssey” – 2024 Jimei-Arle’s image curator-prize-winning exhibition “Metal Odyssey” explores trauma and memory in life in life. The exhibition presents interactions between the artists and their families through medical items, pictures of luggage and travel and through life experiences as patients. By reflecting on the patient’s healing journey, presented in the form of documents and symbolizing a difficult and brave Odyssey, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the deep intersection of metal and art.

  • “Glinting Light: An exploration of Luo Bonia’s photography” – – This exhibition focuses on Luo Bonia’s photography and exploration as a “self -taught” banker. The exhibition, which highlights the “golden years” in its photographic career from 1930 to 1940, shows almost a hundred rare original works as well as other documents that are important to Luo’s life and artistic practice to create a vivid image of the artist and his kaleidoscopic artistic world.

  • “Unknown edge” – Hao Xinyus Separate Exhibition shows his creative work, which spans six years as a retrospective of his personal visual language and the development of his creative methodology. In his work, he often explores the feeling of powerlessness in scenes that “not easily brushed by light”, or often overlooked by others, using images, materials and spatial construction to share and build potential associations and reconstructions of his surroundings at a given time. Hao leaves part of the narrative expression room to the color and material to tell in the hope that the chaos and the conflict during the calm and the order can surprise itself.
