Russian President Vladimir Putin was shown on Wednesday on Russian television -visiting troops involved in the counter -offensive in the Kursk region and listened to a report on their progress.
Putin was shown sitting wearing a camouflage printing shirt in a room listening to a report from the armed forces of the armed forces Valery Gerasimov. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies that Putin had visited one of the commands of the Kursk group of troops.
The Russian president ordered his army to “fully free” Russia’s Kursk region after days of pushing back.
Ukrainian troops who have held territory there since August.
“I trust the fact that all combat tasks that our units face will be fulfilled, and the Kursk region’s territory will soon be released completely from the enemy,” Putin said on TV notes during a visit to Russian troops fighting there.
Russia has caught 430 Ukrainian soldiers fighting in the Kursk region, Valery Gerasimov, head of the Russian General Staff, told Putin at a television meeting.
Putin said the trapped warriors should “be treated as terrorists in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation,” suggesting that they could face lawsuits in Russian courts and be imprisoned for decades.
